The Band plays on sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll
It’s hard to put my finger on this film. The tagline says “sex, drugs and rock and roll” and that is exactly what you get in the film. It’s filled with sex (some unsimulated, I believe), drug use and overly loud rock music.
The film is essentially a love story and follows Candy who is dumped by lead singer and boyfriend Jimmy Taranto. He then dumps his band, Gutter Filth, and goes solo. Candy then assumes the lead and tours with the band, trying to mend her broken heart.
Now, you’ve seen love stories well this one ends in lesbian love…and ‘les-be-honest’, it’s quite hot. However, there is some controversy surrounding this film as there are suggestions that some sex scenes were real. Fortunately, anything explicit has been edited from this version.
The uncut and uncensored version is said to contain un-simulated footage.
The acting does not meet golden globe standards and it’s a bit hard not to fall asleep trying to keep up with the story-line. However, there are steamy sex scenes and some weird fetishes that just might make you blush.
If you are thinking of watching this film then keep the volume down – and adults only.
