West New Britain (WNB) Governor, Sasindran Muthuvel, has reportedly contributed K124, 619.22 to an upcoming Indian film project based on the life of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary female politician Jayaram Jayalalithaa, according to this week’s edition of The National‘s TV guide Spin!
The film project Parivartan, literally meaning Transformation, is a joint production between Bangalore based Indian Classic Arts and Masscom Productions in Coimbatore and will be released in Tamil and English.
Muthuvel, who migrated to Papua New Guinea (PNG) after graduating from Tamil Nadu Agricultural College 15 years ago, is reportedly a great admirer of Jayalalithaa.
The film’s producer, K Ramasubramanian; a friend of Muthuvel, said the required financial resources is being mobilised from the public and they were hoping to get more support like Sasindran’s in the near future.
Meanwhile Muthuvel has pledged K100 000 to be set aside for the project if the producer can secure funding from other sources.
Muthuvel said his contribution to the film project is entirely personal and has nothing to do with his position as an elected leader.
