Transformers: Age of Extinction
Okay, so I’m a little late…well, very late, but at least I’m putting out my review of Transformers: Age of Extinction. Its better late than never.
I’m fairly sure that you’ve read reviews from so many other sources so I’ll just skip the formalities and start with what I really thought about the film.
The plot is great and we have some good performances from Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and the sexy Asian chick from X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, it seemed a bit revolting when they kept of showing Nicola Peltz bottom in extremely small short jeans.
Peltz plays Wahlberg’s 17 year old daughter so I kept on thinking jailbait whenever her backside was shown. Then you have her Irish boyfriend Shane who seems to be speaking Klingon for all I know. However, there were a few interesting theories shown in the film.
The most obvious could be the extinction of the dinosaurs which ironically played out like the opening scenes from Prometheus. Interestingly, further into the film, we learn that the Autobots were created and originally sent to destroy humanity. However, it is implied that Optimus Prime does not follow his purpose and bounty hunter is sent after him.
There is a striking similarity to Prometheus especially dealing with the theory of human evolution. Fortunately, I will leave that to the scholars and think tanks to figure out.
