Jackie Chan to star in action thriller
Jackie Chan will be stepping out of his comfort zone to take the lead role in an action thriller, according to CinemaBlend.
The latest was announced today, as Chan and director Nick Cassavetes are in final talks to bring the thrilling novel The Foreigner to the big screen.
Jackie has been cast as the main protagonist in the film adaptation of Stephen Leather’s 1992 novel, The Chinaman.
The adaptation titled The Foreigner will pit Jackie as a restaurant owner in London’s Chinatown against Irish terrorist who kill his daughter. Of course, this happens after the justice system fails.
The film is set to be directed by Nick Cassavetes whose credits include The Notebook, Johnny Q and The Other Woman. Shooting has been scheduled for October.
Jackie will also be returning to the kung fu scene with his role as Monkey in Kung Fu Panda 3 in 2016.
